Every Wednesday-Sunday through Dec. 20: Achasta’s Southern Living Idea House, now decorated for the holidays. A portion of the $5 fee supports the Holly Theater.

Friday, Nov. 27: Holiday music, 5-6 p.m., Visitors Center; Lighting of the Square, 6 p.m.; live nativity at Park Place Hotel courtyard, 7-9 p.m.

Saturday, Nov. 28: Santa Claus at Visitors Center from 1-6 p.m., live nativity at Park Place Hotel courtyard, 7-9 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 29: Santa Claus at Visitors Center from 1-5 p.m.

Friday, Dec. 4: Santa Claus Walks the Square, Gallery Walk, Merchants Open House beginning at 5 p.m. with merchants open late, Kiwanis luminaries at dusk, live nativity at Park Place Hotel courtyard, 7-9 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 5: Santa Claus at Visitors Center from 1-4:30 p.m.; award presentation to merchants for decorations, 4 p.m.; Old Fashioned Christmas Parade around the square, 4:30 p.m.; Lighting of the Tree, 6 p.m.; live nativity at Park Place Hotel courtyard, 7-9 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 6: Santa at Visitors Center from 1-5 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 12: Santa at Visitors Center from 1-6 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 13: Santa at Visitors Center from 1-5 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 19: Santa at Visitors Center from 1-6 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 20: Santa at Visitors Center from 1-5 p.m., Gallery Walk-“Peace on Earth,” 5 p.m.

Dahlonega Pizza Hut White Christmas

The Dahlonega Pizza Hut Restaurant has again generously opened their doors for a CHP White Christmas night. The event will be help Monday, December 7th 2009 from 5:00 P.M. – 8:30 P.M.

As is the tradition, many beloved pastors serve as the waiters for the evening. All tips earned will benefit CHP White Christmas.

Please come join the fun and support CHP White Christmas and our local pastors.

White Christmas Community Helping Place

White Christmas is the annual Christmas outreach of the Community Helping Place that serves Lumpkin County residents in need this holiday season.

What can I do?

Donating new, unwrapped toys
Donating non-perishable food items
Giving financial contributions
Volunteering your time

Where does this stuff go? Why should I help?

In 2008 CHP served 262 families, 454 adults, 513 children (439 received toys) and distributed 9,713 lbs. of food.

Bring your flashlight and join our guides as they take you on a walk through the zoo under the stars!
Hear the wolves howl, meet some amazing nocturnal animals such as a bushbaby and owl.
Meet other zoo friends and learn lots of fun and exciting facts about the animals
While waiting for your tour to start, enjoy our petting area full of fun, cuddly animals!
Afterwoods, you will take the hayride past the camels, yaks, water buffalo and more! Enjoy feeding and petting these animals as your guide continues to share about the Reason for the Season and all about God’s amazing animals.
Hear fun and inspirational stories about these animals and enjoy time with your family under the stars!
The hayride will end at the live nativity! Take a moment to take in the sight and remember that the birth of Jesus is the Reason to celebrate. Enjoy petting and interacting with the nativity animals.
While there you can visit the bonfire where you can roast marshmellows, sing along with Christmas carols and simply enjoy your family and friends (both furry and not so furry) under the stars!
