Sunday, July 4, 2010, will be an exciting and fun filled day in Dahlonega!
The day will begin with the 20th annual TLC Pet Show in Hancock Park, followed by a day filled with patriotic events and music. There will be an inflatable kids area in Hancock Park, our local non-profit organizations will be set up around our historic square selling food, crafts and much more. There will be a Classic Car show, a parade, live music and the day will culminate with a spectacular fireworks show over North Georgia College and State University’s campus. Come join in all of the fun!!

21st Annual Mountain Top Rodeo

The 21st Annual Mountain Top Rodeo will be a highlight on the Rodeo circuit not only for all the world-class competitive action, but also for the breathtaking beauty of it’s North Georgia Mountain location. This year promises to be one of the best years to date with non-stop action, hilarious antics, and more fun than you can handle! This year’s rodeo is June 25th & 26th. Midway, which houses the vendors and exhibitors, opens at 6 p.m. while the events begin at 8 p.m. each night.

So shine up your spurs, get out your timers, and let’s get ready to RODEO!

Performance Dates: February 11 – 14, 18 – 21 & 25 – 28
In the middle of a howling Snowstorm, a bus out of Kansas City pulls up at a cheerful roadside diner. All roads are blocked and 4 or 5 weary travelers are going to have to hole up for the night. Among the passengers is Cherie (Played in the movie by Marilyn Monroe), a nightclub chanteuse, with the most to worry about. She’s being perused by cowboy named Bo with a ranch in Montana and the romantic methods of a headstrong bull. The stories of the other passengers add dramatic and comic counterpoints to the trials and tribulations of Bo and Cherie. (Recommended for ages 14 and up)

Hubbard Street Dance Company

The Holly Theater will host the Hubbard Street Dance Company, ‘Hubbard Street 2,’ on Sunday, Nov. 15, for both a free workshop and an afternoon performance.

The Chicago based dance company is offering to students of dance and theater an opportunity to participate in a free workshop with the dance company on the Holly stage from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the performance at 2 p.m. The class, starting at approximately 9 a.m., and rehearsal, approximately 10 a.m. to noon, will be open for local students to observe.

At noon the workshop will move to the downstairs theater where the dancers will spend up to an hour with the students, answering their questions about anything from make-up to shoes. Please RSVP for the free workshop by phone at 706-864-3759 or by e-mail to info@hollytheater.com
